As we are now in the full swing of the seasonal shift the world around us is starting to slow down and prepare for rest. Last week we saw napa cabbage, kale, sweet potatoes, onions, hot peppers, sweet peppers, kohl rabi, baby bok choi, butternut squash, beets, carrots, head lettuce, broccoli raab, beans, chard, cilantro, and celery in our CSA shares.
It’s hard to imagine regardeless of that mighty list of crops, that next week will be our last week at the farm. We will miss the time we spend there every week, picking up our bounty, and will be a little bit sad to good bye to the farming season. The flip side of it all though, will be turning inward, spending more time at home doing all the fun things that the next season provides us with opportunities for.

Those sunflowers paid us a visit and are bending and surrenduring back down to the earth. Good bye for now, they say…we'll see you next year!

Your little ones are looking so grown up!
Love your image of the sunflowers with their heads hanging low, like they almost can't believe the seasonal change, hanging their heads in sorrow. Looks like your littles really look forward to the farm trip — such happy faces.
