This weekend we had our annual burning of our christmas tree. All year we let our christmas tree dry out and sometime in the summer we put it on the campfire and watch it burn. The weather lately has been crisp and cool in the evenings and we have been glad to trade in the humidity for some sweatshirts.
At the end of it all we watch as images appear in the burning coals and imagine what they might be there to tell us. Last night my oldest spotted a bald eagle, a fish, a spider, a whale, and an eel.
Whenever I am entranced by the flickering flames of a fire, I marvel at the life that seems to live behind them, conveying deep wisdom to all who will listen. Over at threading light today we are talking about currents of light. Hop on over and check it out.
